PRESIDENT
Founded in 2010, the Asian Mentoring Committee (AMC) is an affinity group of Asian and Pacific Islander volunteers who support Asian Littles in NYC and the New American Program (NAP) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC.
The New American Program (NAP) is BBBS of NYC’s specialized language-access program, helping children from immigrant families overcome the unique obstacles they may face while navigating culture, language and customs that are different from their home environment.

“SMART“ OUTINGS
AMC plans free events to help Littles work towards SMART goals, connect with other Matches and have new experiences. AMC prioritizes partnerships with other non-profits and AAPI groups.

RECRUITMENT
AMC hosts events to grow mentor interest to ensure that 1st generation immigrant youth have culturally supportive mentors. AMC currently supports the Cantonese, Mandarin and Korean speaking communities across the 5 boroughs of NYC.
NIGHT MARKET REMIX 2020
Unable to gather in-person during the global lockdown, AMC partnered with Admerasia, NextShark and ISAtv to highlight AAPI talent from all walks of life in a virtual event.

NIGHT MARKET FUNDRAISER
AMC’s signature fundraiser celebrates immigrant heritage through food & music, while raising funds for language access programs at BBBS of NYC.
